Mahindra’s newly launched BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs had a phenomenal debut, racking up 30,179 bookings within just one day of opening. The split between the two models was 56% for the XEV 9e and 44% for the BE 6. Among both models, the Pack Three variant, which comes with a larger 79kWh battery pack, was the top choice for customers.
With around 1 lakh electric vehicles sold in 2024, Mahindra’s first-day numbers are highly impressive. Bookings for both models are now open at select Mahindra dealerships and via the company’s official website. However, production is capped at 5,000 units per month, with deliveries scheduled between March and August 2025.
Mahindra BE 6: Performance and Range
The BE 6 is available in two variants based on battery capacity: a 59kWh variant producing 231hp, and a 79kWh version generating 286hp. Both variants produce 380Nm of torque and are rear-wheel drive (RWD) only. The 79kWh model boasts an impressive ARAI-certified range of 682km, while the smaller battery pack offers a range of 556km.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Variants and Specs
The XEV 9e is offered in three variants—Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three Select—all featuring a 59kWh battery. This setup powers a 231hp, 380Nm motor mounted on the rear axle, with a MIDC-certified range of 542km on a full charge. Charging times are rated at 8.7 hours with a 7.2kW AC charger, 6 hours with an 11.2kW AC charger, and just 20 minutes using a 140kW DC fast charger.
The top-spec XEV 9e Pack Three model comes with a larger 79kWh battery pack, producing 286hp and the same 380Nm torque. It offers a range of 656km per charge. Charging takes 11.7 hours with a 7.2kW AC charger, 8 hours with an 11.2kW AC charger, and just 20 minutes with a 175kW DC fast charger.
