Bajaj has upgraded its Pulsar NS125 with a crucial safety feature – single-channel ABS. This move positions the NS125 as a more attractive option for riders seeking better braking performance in the competitive 125cc segment. Competing with models like the Hero Xtreme 125R, TVS Raider, and Honda SP125, the updated Pulsar NS125 is priced at Rs 1,06,739 (ex-showroom), while the non-ABS version costs Rs 1,01,050.
Enhanced Braking Setup
The NS125 comes with a 240 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm rear drum brake. Previously equipped with a combined braking system (CBS), this update now offers riders better control with single-channel ABS, likely based on customer feedback. Bajaj is known for its consumer-centric approach, and this enhancement reflects its commitment to rider safety.
The new braking system is particularly beneficial in unpredictable or slippery conditions. Whether navigating city traffic or cruising on highways, the ABS provides added stability and boosts rider confidence.

How Pulsar NS125 Stacks Up Against Rivals
- Hero Xtreme 125R: The Hero Xtreme offers both CBS and single-channel ABS variants. The ABS model comes with a larger 276 mm front disc, while the CBS version has a 240 mm disc. Both variants share the same 130 mm rear drum setup.
- TVS Raider: TVS Raider still relies on its Synchronized Braking Technology (SYNCRO SBT), featuring a 240 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum. However, it lacks an ABS option, giving the NS125 an edge.
- Honda SP125: Honda’s popular SP125 offers a CBS with an equalizer, pairing a 240 mm front disc with a 130 mm rear drum. Like the Raider, it doesn’t yet have an ABS option.
Performance & Features
The Pulsar NS125 remains mechanically unchanged. It is powered by a 124.45 cc, air-cooled, SOHC, DTS-i engine that produces 12 PS and 11 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This output surpasses its competitors, with only the TVS Raider coming close in torque with 11.2 Nm.

The bike rides on 17-inch wheels, supported by telescopic front forks and a mono-shock rear suspension. With a seat height of 805 mm and a ground clearance of 179 mm, it weighs in at 144 kg. The NS125 is also equipped with a digital instrument cluster featuring Bluetooth connectivity, offering readouts for gear position, real-time fuel economy, average mileage, and distance-to-empty.
